Tweet Tweet

I may be jumping on a bandwagon, but it's not twitter.

Songbird has been mentioned by enough trusted sources to merit a second and third look. And finally an install. A media player. How original. But when that media player is a web browser, that pulls up a play list of all related songs to a page?.. One that helps you explore and save and catalog and i don't even know what else yet?

wicked.

just a quick tool around songbird, and in conjunction a quick browse through hypemachine is enough to sell me that this is right. this is how it should be.

small, light and responsive... does add ins like firefox?..

pure gold.

oh, and it's cross platform and open source. so it'll work for everybody, and anybody can improve it.

genius.

better subscription (podcast?) support is coming and surely a music sync feature too. Songbird seems cool enough to use even with out it.

Faith or Bad Judgement?

Is there any protocol for when your boss sends one of those email forwards about 'bill gates tracking email' and paying everybody?  Is it worse when he got it from his boss, and so forth up to a VP level?

I didn't identify anybody/company or ridicule the action, but did i just get myself fired by making personal comments on a public domain?  One of those 'innocuous internet comments blown out of proportion' situations?

Coming soon

I'm excited. Switched my desktop to Ubuntu a while ago. Just recently switched my media center over to Mythbuntu. It's better than Windows MCE in a few key areas. My only PC hangup is for when I teach classes for Canine Camera. I'm too lazy to fix the few formatting and transition errors in the powerpoints for class. Maybe the next time the classes are updated.

Linky Late Nighty

A couple things for y'all.

One is a color/hue test. Arrange the various colors in order. I dropped a 29. Lower is better. I wonder if a better calibrated monitor would have helped... I guess I could just test over on the laptop screen. Does apple have an unfair advantage for being a color managed system?.. Did firefox screw up the rendering?.. Good luck.

Second is a Cowbellator. Add more cowbell and more walken to any song. Two examples below.

This one is 26% cowbell, 5% walken

Make your own at MoreCowbell.dj

This is 51% cowbell, 10% walken. Obviously a far superior product.

Absurd Math

One Month, Two Months, THREE?!@@!@#$#@12

Joking around with Heather the other night I found out she thinks 3 months salary is traditional for an engagement ring. I was feeling good about going the extra mile (cuz I kinda like her or something) and doing 2 months. When did engagement inflation happen?! FIGHT ENGAGEMENT INFLATION!

I knew I should bought the ring back when I didn't have a job.

You're Too Dumb To Be Smart

Just finally watched this video about the fifth amendment and why even the innocent shouldn't speak to the police.  Enlightening.  Truly.

http://www.tuccille.com/blog/2008/07/eight-reasons-even-innocent-shouldnt.html

The session is presented from the side of both a defense lawyer and a police officer.  They both agree with the substance of the message.  The nuances of human nature can be self defeating for the innocent and guilty alike.

Spend a little time and learn the beauty of the fifth amendment.

love in our age

http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2008-07-28-cohabitation-research_N.htm?loc=interstitialskip

the first one is about how sex with out condoms is the new engagement ring...

the second is about people who live together before getting married aren't more likely to get divorced, but less.
