Ain't that the honest brutal truth?
Yesterday, I was a machine. I went and DID. I
achieved yesterday. I replied to email, like... like... well I
don't know what cuz, i've already used my best analogy. but it
was intense. i organized emails, and set flags, and followups
and all sorts of stuff. i replied to things, got rid of the
irrelevant and sent new emails about stuff i hadn't thought about
before that moment.
THEN, things carried over into my big ugly "friend's"
folder. the one where every personal email goes... the one
that had, more than 80 emails unread and unreplied to. again,
feverish determination took me where i've never gone, and suddenly,
the picture was not so bleak. new folders created, old email
read, and many many replies sent out. it's down to like 20 emails
unread, unreplied to. and many are from the same people.
so like 5 more emails will clear that up...
BUTT
There's always someone's ass hanging out... the only
thing this flurry of productivity has done, is refill my inbox
with new replies. Honestly, have you people NOTHING to
do? MUST you reply right away? if i haven't responded in
months, don't pounce upon my email like a pathetic attention
whore... savor it. let it grow in flavor and appreciate it
like fine wine. all three lines of that email we carefully
crafted, or possibly thrown together in a frenetic jumble while
hoping to remember to whom this email was targeted all the while
cursing conventional grammar and the fixing of typos.
i guess i'm lucky to complain about having friends who respond to
me quickly, but it is a bit of a shock to think you've made
progress, only to realize that your progress was an illusion.
you don't recover from being a black hole of communication for
months at a time in a flurry of heaving, thrusting and
pounding. obviously, a slap and tickle is not enough.
i'm going to have do this right. thank goodness these people
are patient enough to get the good stuff. Posted by BG on 11/12/03; 12:33:56
