On my way to Indy again. (I was there last weekend dropping
off a dresser for my sister and her baby room.)
This time I'm taking another dresser and my mother. I'll be
leaving both at my sister's house. Why strand my mother in
Indy? Because she's going to be staying for a few weeks to
help my sister with the baby that's coming in the next... 22
hours. I'll be taking care of the dogs. (They're easier
to feed, AND I don't have to wipe their asses or touch their
poop. Hooray for a big back yard!)
Be well, and do something positive to make this a cool world for
my first neice or third nephew to join...
So, on friday Heather and I went to the Brookfield Zoo. Not at
all far from where we live, and a very awesome zoo. Great place for
a date, as long as your date isn't one of those, ''aww the animal
has to be free'' types. Heather isn't. Whew!
Anyway, I've known for quite some time that when Heather gets
married, she wants a super small wedding (like a best friend or two
as witnesses but almost like eloping), and the reception can be as
large as can be afforded. At the zoo, I asked, ''why?''
The biggest reason, she doesn't want to kiss her husband in front
of her family. totally bizarre, completely believable, and I think I
scared the bison laughing so hard.
Anyway, don't worry about me getting married ANYTIME
soon.
That meeting... I need to think about it some more.
It could be a gut wrenching leap into legitimacy, not at all
the small steps I was taking previously. Posted by BG on 3/20/04; 12:41:58

Going north tonight. Got a sister who lives just north of
Chicago. I'll see my nephews and help my brother in law with
his computer. Whoopty Woot!
The real goal of this trip is to cut my travel time in half
friday morning. Alfredo
deserves a nice pat on the back, a couple beers and (depending on
how this goes) possibly more. He passed my name on to the
people who run this
company. They make finding resources easy for the
corporate professional. I'm not sure how everything will work,
but that's why I'm meeting them tomorrow morning.
Hopefully things will go well, and I'll have some more
work! On the road, if you need to reach me -- call the
cell.
The Swiss Army Knife has taken a leap into cyberspace with the
latest addition to its ever-expanding range of tools. One of the
knife’s two makers has released a version with a memory key that
plugs into computers. It will be presented this week at the CeBIT
technology fair in Hanover, Germany. The “Memory USB” army
knife includes a “flash memory stick”, a piece of technology which
has become increasingly popular with computer users over the past
few months.
Hello...Bg...this is shameless sounding off. How has life been? I
am working for the man (WalMart) in China. I am responsible for
working with suppliers in Asia to implement RFID tags. I also overee
all container shipments and I work with the local banks. I am also
working on an initiative to implement web based technologies for
international logistics.
I visited a few of our factories. It
is unreal how cheap goods are produced. I feel sorry for the Chinese
worker who is forced to live in a dorm and restricted to a 9 pm.
curfew. All in the name of $117 per month.
But, China will be
lauging in the end. The are slowly (and I mean slowly) building
labour laws. However, unions are not allowed to form. There are some
international workers rights groups here that built centres. But,
their work has not been effective to date.

The prose poem is an effective means of seduction. For one thing,
the deceptively simple packaging: the paragraph. People do not
generally run for cover when they are confronted with a paragraph or
two. The paragraph says to them: I won't take much of your time,
and, if you don't mind my saying so, I am not known to be arcane,
obtuse, precious, or high-falutin'. Come on in. —James Tate,
American poet, quoted in Great American Prose Poems,

hehehehheheh met up with Mike last night in
michigan city. his friends and i took him to his first gay bar
last night. he looked like he fit in (rainbow stripes on his
sweater... ;). we learned about straight guys using the girl's
bathroom to not get molested. we played some pool and enjoyed
the jello shots that Mike's admirers bought for
us. ;) we did not, however, stay for the drag
show. Posted by BG on 3/12/04; 1:59:55 PM
